Beaver Community Fair ~ Rules and Regulations Entries and Entering Exhibits 1. Exhibit entries are limited to persons or groups residing in Pennsylvania. 2. Exhibitors may pick up entry tags for all entries on Sunday or Monday when they enter their exhibits. These tags must be completed by the exhibitor with the computer code, exhibit description, and exhibitor's number, name and address. Tags should be attached to exhibit. Exhibits entered on Sunday shall be placed, by the exhibitor, in the respective building. Department superintendents will not be on duty on Sunday, but a watchman will be assigned to safeguard the exhibits. *Note: Exhibits are "entered" when they are placed in the buildings on Sunday or Monday. Pre-registration is NOT required. 3. Game and contest participants must register on the day of the event unless a pre-registration form is offered. 4. Exhibits displayed in the Memorial Building and green steel building are entered free of charge. 5. All exhibits must be entered in the name of the owner or producer. 6. Exhibitors may have only ONE (1) entry in a class, except livestock. 7. The Beaver Fair Association takes the precaution to protect exhibits by providing watchmen at times when the buildings are open to the public. 8. Exhibits not properly entered will be re-entered and judged in their proper class. 9. All entries in the Memorial Building and green steel building must be entered by 6:00 pm on Monday.
Removing Exhibits 1. Exhibits may be removed Sunday, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. No exhibits may be removed before this time. No person shall remove exhibits except department superintendents or their helpers. Entry tags may be removed the following Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. only. 2. Exhibits not removed Sunday may be removed the following Monday 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. only.
Judging 1. An exhibit may not be entered in the miscellaneous class if the premium list provides a class in which it can be entered. 2. Judges place entries by merit, even where there is no competition in a class. 3. The opinion of the judges shall be final, except in such cases where it is afterwards discovered that the entry is not according to the governing rules and regulations. In this case the management shall have the final word. 4.The names of all exhibitors shall be concealed until the judging is finished. 5. Only exhibits listed in the premium list will be judged. 6. Exhibits entered with more or less specimens than the specified number listed in the premium guide booklet will be disqualified. Exhibits should check the number of specimens carefully when entries are made. 7. Judges will not open canned fruit and vegetables. Judges may open jellies, preserves, etc. if they deem it necessary.
Premiums 1. No premiums are guaranteed in classes with less than three (3) entries. 2. The Fair Association shall have the right to reduce premiums an equal percentage in all classes (not to exceed 15%) if the Board of Directors deem it necessary due to extended rainy weather or other causes which drastically reduce attendance.
2008 Exhibit Entry Timetable 80 th Annual Beaver FairSunday, September 14th 1:00 - 5:00 PM Obtain exhibitor number and pick up entry tags. Enter exhibits in proper departments with entry tags completed and attached to exhibits. Exhibitors must use the 2006 premium book codes due to a new system change. Monday, September 15th 9:00 AM - 6 PM Obtain exhibitor number and pick up entry tags. Enter exhibits in proper departments with entry tags completed and attached to exhibits. Exhibitors must use the current year's premium book codes due to system changes. Mon. - Sat. September 14-20 Contest Registrations - All contest registrations must be made one hour prior to the start of the contest. All registrations done by contest chairpersons at the contest site.
