Beaver Community Junior Fair Queen
Monday, September 19, 2011 - 6:00 PM
The purpose of the Beaver Fair Queen Competition Program is to encourage the promotion of agriculture through the Beaver Fair, and to create better relations between youth and adults in both rural and urban settings.
All contestants will receive an individual gift. The winner will receive a Sash.
The due date for the Junior Fair Queen competition entry is September 1 - it will not be extended.
Contest Rules
Each Contestant Must:
- Meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be a resident of Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
- Be a registered student of a Snyder County high school or university.
- Be a member of a Snyder County 4H club or FFA chapter.
- Be a resident of Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
- Be at least 10 years of age and not over 15 years of age by June 1.
- Have written consent of a parent or guardian.
- Be single, never married, have had no children. Also, the winner must not marry, nor become pregnant during her reign.
- Not be a former queen of another fair in Pennsylvania, nor have been a state fair queen contestant in Pennsylvania.
- Be available to attend several functions during the 2011 Beaver Fair
Competition:
- No entry fee required.
- Be available on stage to introduce themselves, and answer a question.
- Present a speech or presentation, using charts and pictures. NO Computer presentations permitted.
- Judging will consiste of 25 points each for Appearance/poise, introduction, ability to answer the question and presentation or speech. (100 Points Total)

Duties of the Beaver Fair Junior Queen
- The Winner will reign for one year.
- She must attend and participate in other activities and functions.
- Speaking engagements and functions throughout the year of her reign.
- Public appearances throughout the year
- Assist with events during the Beaver Fair
- Assist with the Crowning of the Beaver Fair Junior Queen for 2012
- Speaking engagements and functions throughout the year of her reign.
- The Jr Queen and Jr Alternate must send a report to the Fair Queen Committee every two months. The report must include information on the activities and events she has completed and plans of upcoming activities and events.
Beaver Fair Jr. Queen Requirements

Youth Activities – 5 pts
4-H, & FFA meetings (other than own club or chapter) School event i.e. – sheep to shaw & Food for America -
Give a Presentation or Speech at an event – 5 pts
- Public Appearances – 5 pts
Parades, Dairy Days, Farm & Non Farm Meetings
- Publicity – 5 pts
Radio interview, Public Service Announcement, Newspaper Articles *
*Articles are to submitted to the Fair Queen Committee
- Beaver Fair Week Events – 10 pts
Livestock shows, livestock sale, tractor pull, & Fair Queen Crowning
- Scrapbook to document activities – 20 pts
- Create & display a booth at the Beaver Fair – 20 pts
Required to earn 50 approved points
